Guest Speaker: Rev. Dr. Fred Halde who has been a Presbyterian pastor for 37 years, retiring in October of 2015. He and his wife, Cynthia, live in Winter Haven, after having moved from New Jersey and Michigan. They enjoy living in the area and being close to their two granddaughters, who live in Jacksonville.
*We will celebrate today, the beginning of the new school year. All students are encouraged to bring their backpacks to church for "A Blessing of the Backpacks." Each student will receive a tag to place on their backpack as a reminder that their McLeod Church family is praying for them.
Rev. Callie Weber is a Florida native and originally from Dade City. Callie attended Agnus Scott College in Decatur, Georgia majoring in Religious Studies. She graduated from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Since seminary, Callie has served three different ministries: hospital chaplaincy, camp and conference ministry at Cedarkirk, and most recently for a hospice just outside of Atlanta. Callie currently serves at Tidwell Hospice as a Grief Specialist.

Volunteers are to meet in the Helmuth Hall. Food Preparation begins at 8:30am, Packaging begins at 10am with deliveries immediately following. We can always use any volunteer who would like to help cook, package, deliver and clean. After deliveries are made lunch is provided for the volunteers.

Everyone is invited to come have pancakes, sausage, milk and juice to kick off our fall/winter/spring Sunday Study time. We will have a group activity that will help decorate our fellowship hall bulletin board.
McLeod's mission focus for 2016 raised $9,000 for missions in the community and abroad. The gifts from McLeod will help create shallow wells in Africa, provide opportunities to people in developing countries through Heifer, and will help kids at Thornwell!
